You need a valid @student.unimelb.edu.au email address and must be a currently enrolled University of Melbourne student. One account per person — don't create multiple accounts to get around moderation or vote manipulation limits.

Your posts are shown under an auto-generated pseudonym, not your name. We don't display your identity to other users. Anonymity is for honest discussion, not for harassment, doxxing, or targeting specific people in ways that cross into abuse — we can still see your account behind a report, and we will act on it.

You keep ownership of anything you post. By posting, you give Syllyth a licence to display, store, and distribute that content on the platform. You're responsible for what you post — don't share anything you don't have the right to share.

Don't post content that is:

• Defamatory, harassing, or targeted at a specific person to demean or intimidate them
• Hate speech, or discriminatory on the basis of protected characteristics
• Doxxing — sharing someone's personal information without consent
• Spam, scams, or unrelated advertising
• Illegal under Australian law

Reviews and opinions on subjects, lecturers, and courses are personal opinions of individual students, not verified facts, and not statements made or endorsed by Syllyth or the University of Melbourne.

We review reported content and may edit, remove, or restrict posts that break these terms. Repeated or serious violations can result in account suspension or termination. Moderation decisions are made by the Syllyth team and are final.

Syllyth is an independent, student-run platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated on behalf of the University of Melbourne. References to subjects, faculties, or courses are for identification purposes only.

Syllyth is provided as-is. Content is user-generated and we don't guarantee its accuracy, and we're not responsible for decisions you make based on it (enrolment choices, exam prep, or otherwise). To the extent permitted by law, we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the platform.

You can delete your account at any time from your profile. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, at our discretion.

We may update these terms as the product changes. We'll update the date at the top when we do. Continuing to use Syllyth after a change means you accept the update.

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
